Mueller Meats is a Century farm in Nowthen, Minnesota. We’re proud to say that our farm has been in the Mueller family since 1903. It first began as an FDA certified dairy farm, over a hundred years ago, selling milk to the Cambridge, Purim, and Litchfield Creameries, and eventually to local families. With the national downfall of the dairy industry, and the rise in local demand for home grown beef, we now breed and raise  quality angus beef from our own private herd. Owned and operated by Timothy Mueller and his parents; Gary and Bridget Mueller; Mueller Meats is committed to providing sustainable, pasture grazed, angus beef for all families. Every cow in the herd is pasture grazed and is raised without the introduction of extra hormones or antibiotics.

Furthermore, all of our beef is MDA inspected and approved.

We at Mueller Meats look forward to connecting with you and providing you and your family with fresh,

naturally raised, quality meats.

Setting a New Standard

No Hidden Fees, No Processing Wait, and No Trips to the Butcher's Shop

At Mueller Meats, we believe that you should know what you're getting and how much it will cost you.
For this reason, whenever you buy a Whole, Half, or Quarter Cow, the price listed is the price you pay.
Not only this, but all of our meat is inspected and butchered before you buy it. This means that there is no need to wait to buy a cow, and you do not have to make any trips to the butcher's shop.
Instead, once your order is weighed and ready, you can come pick it up from us or have it delivered.

              How We Raise Our Cattle

Our customers have often asked us, "How do you get your beef to taste so good?"

Our answer is quite simple: Natural, Balanced Diet and Proper Exercise.

First, all of our cattle are fed a year round, balanced diet of non GMO hay, corn, and rye. All hay, corn, and rye is grown in our own private fields, harvested, and used as feed for our cattle. Whenever the ground is not covered with snow, our cattle have the pleasure of grazing freely on the lush grass in their pasture. Which brings us to the second point, exercise. Unlike commercial feed lots, our cattle are free to walk and even run as they please. A proper amount of exercise combined with a well balanced diet, allows for our cattle to develop flavorful meat without excess fat build up. So you get bold flavor without excess fat.

This flavor can be jarring to some, especially if one is accustomed to the fattier flavors of fast food or beef from the local grocery store. We recommend trying one of our steaks or roasts before purchasing a Big Beef Bundle, just to get an idea of how healthy beef tastes.

For your ease of mind, and for the health of our cattle, we do not use hormone injections to speed up the growth of our cattle. This is a common method used in commercial feed lots to expedite the growth of their animals. Rest assured,

all of our cattle are naturally raised to a proper age before they are butchered.

All our meat is antibiotic free. The USDA does not allow any meat to be butchered if antibiotics are present within. Commercial feed lots commonly dose their cattle with penicillin in an effort to prevent illness in their herds. They discontinue the use of antibiotics only days before they have their cattle butchered.

We at Mueller Meats believe in taking thorough care of our cattle, and in turn, you. We use antibiotics only as a last resort in nursing a cow back to health.

The great majority of our cattle never see a needle their entire life.

All of our live cattle are inspected by the MDA before they are butchered.

In turn, all of the raw meat is inspected by the MDA before the meat is cut and packaged.

All of our butchering is done by Blue Ribbon Quality Meats in Monticello, MN, Jack Cooper Custom Meats in Cologne, MN, and Schroeder Meats in New Germany, MN.
